The Parish Council is developing a Neighbourhood Plan to give residents a voice in how our community changes and grows in the years up to 2030. The boundary of Boughton Aluph and Eastwell parishes has been designated as the Neighbourhood Plan Area by Ashford Borough Council.
We held a series of community meetings to engage with and seek the views of residents on what should be included in the Neighbourhood Plan. A survey questionnaire was sent to every household in the parish in 2016 and we received an excellent response. A first draft of the Neighbourhood Plan was put out to public consultation in April 2019. The consultation will close on 19 May 2019. The Parish Council will consider and respond to all comments and may amend the Neighbourhood Plan in the light of them. The amended Plan will be subject to further public consultation and independent examination. The final version will be put to a parish referendum. If it has the backing of residents, it will be adopted by Ashford Borough Council as the Plan which must be used in law to determine planning applications in our parishes.
The Parish Council has set up a dedicated Neighbourhood Plan website at www.parishplan.uk where you can find our more about neighbourhood planning, follow our progress and add your views. You can also sign up to receive our occasional Neighbourhood Plan e-newsletter.
