New electoral ward of Goat Lees proposed by Local Government Boundary Commission for England
The Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) is undertaking an electoral review of Ashford Borough Council and recently published its draft recommendations. The Commission proposes that there be four more electoral wards and four more councillors in the Borough than there are now. This includes a new ward of Goat Lees around Trinity Road. If the draft recommendations are accepted, our parish of Boughton Aluph and Eastwell will span two wards – Goat Lees and Downs West – and will be represented by two ward (or borough) councillors.
You can view the LGBCE draft recommendations and new ward boundaries at www.lgbce.org.uk. The consultation will close on 3 April 2017.
